The lab in a nutshell…
Founded in 2016, the Litt&Arts research unit brings together approximately 70 research professors, the same number of PhD students in Literature and Performing arts, a CNRS researcher, and is supported by a group of five digital humanities engineers (ELAN) and five administrative staff. The “&” expresses its scientific aim: to increase rich cross-fertilisation between literary studies and performing and screen arts. This cross-fertilisation is based on two main focuses: the first is “digital convergence”, meaning exploring texts as well as images, voices and movements; the second is research-creation drawing on the Centre for Creation and Innovation (MaCI de Grenoble), with its state-of-the-art facilities for film, theatre, dance, circus arts, and text-based digital technology.
